About this app
What Window Seat does
Window Seat turns the drive itself into a game show. It reads your route, finds the real rivers, state lines, bridges, towns, water towers, wind farms, lakes and peaks ahead, and turns them into quick games for everyone in the car. A game-show host calls each one out through the car speakers, so eyes stay out the window instead of on a screen. The driver never touches the screen: the driver calls out answers and a passenger awards the points. Everyone gets a seat, phone or no phone, and little ones get picture cards and double points. No trip planned? Play at home: fly down famous American roads like the Pacific Coast Highway and Route 66 on a 3D satellite flyover, answering questions about state outlines, rivers and town populations, with friends answering on their own phones in the same room. Every state, river and town you pass earns a stamp in your family's atlas, and every drive ends with a 30-second Trip Reel that keeps your start and end hidden. Your location stays on your phone. No accounts, no ads.
Who it's for
Who Window Seat is for, and how it works
Window Seat is for families and friends on a drive: kids in the back, a passenger up front, and a driver who plays out loud without touching the screen.
It's also for a night on the couch: pick a famous American road, fly down it in 3D and see who knows their rivers, states and towns.
Features
Built to be useful, not noisy.
Real places, real races
Rivers, state lines, bridges, towns, water towers, wind farms, lakes and peaks along your actual route become spotting races, crossing countdowns and guessing games.
Game-show host
A host voice calls every challenge through the car speakers, so everyone looks out the window, not at a screen.
Driver-safe play
The driver never touches the screen. They call out answers and a passenger awards the points.
Play at home
Fly down famous American roads on a 3D satellite flyover and answer questions about what you pass, with friends on their own phones in the same room.
Family Atlas and Trip Reel
Collect stamps for every state, river and town, and share a 30-second film of each drive with home hidden.
Crew, Apple Watch and Game Center
Other phones join offline, the Watch becomes a SPOTTED! buzzer and answer pad, and Game Center adds leaderboards and achievements.
Why it exists
The problem
Families on long drives fall back on the same few car games, and most phone games pull kids' eyes down to a screen for hours. Nothing turns the actual road outside the window into the game.
What's different
How Window Seat stands out
Window Seat reads the real route and builds the game from what the car will pass, hosted by voice so eyes stay up, with the driver playing out loud and location kept on the phone. A Play at home mode reuses the same map data for armchair road trips.
