What Steadier does

One bad fall can change everything. Steadier helps you find the hazards in a home before they find your parent, your spouse, or you. Falls are the number one cause of injury for adults 65 and older, and most of them happen at home — a loose rug in the hallway, a dark stairwell, a tub with nothing to grab. The catch is that almost every one of those hazards is fixable once you know to look for it. Steadier turns the clinical home-safety walkthrough used by occupational therapists into a guided, room-by-room assessment anyone can do in an afternoon, with no medical training required. You pick the rooms — bathroom, stairs, bedroom, kitchen, hallway, entryway, living room — and Steadier asks plain-language questions about each one. Is there a grab bar by the toilet? Are the stair edges easy to see? Is the path from bed to bathroom lit at night? Every answer is weighted by how dangerous that hazard really is, so a missing handrail counts for more than a slightly cluttered shelf. The result is a clear risk score for each room and for the whole home, so you know where you actually stand. Knowing the risk is only half the job. Steadier turns every hazard you flag into a prioritized fix list, ordered so the cheapest, highest-impact changes rise to the top. Mark a fix as planned, in progress, or done. Attach a before photo, then an after photo once the grab bar is installed or the rug is gone, and your room score updates on the spot. Over weeks and months you can re-run the walkthrough and watch the whole-home score improve — proof, for you and the family, that the home is genuinely safer than it was. Steadier was built for the sandwich generation and for caregivers: the daughter setting up her father's house, the spouse who wants to stay independent, the home-care aide doing a first visit.
