Snug / Privacy Policy

Snug privacy policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026 (version 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and version 1.0 for Android phones and tablets)

The short version

  • Your puzzles, progress, streaks, Pet Town and settings are stored on your devices. We never see them.
  • Anonymous product analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) tell us which features are used. No advertising identifier, no names, nothing you type, not linked to you, not used for tracking or ads.
  • Nothing is sent to our notification service unless you allow notifications. If you do, your device registers with it only so we can deliver the reminders you chose.
  • On iPhone and iPad, Game Center and purchases go through Apple, under Apple's privacy policy. On Android, purchases go through Google Play, and Daily Yard reminders are scheduled on your phone (nothing is sent to our notification service). See section 6A.
  • No accounts, no ads, no location, no tracking, and we never sell data.

1. What stays on your device

Snug is a logic puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch on the App Store, built by All Things AI, Inc., and also available for Android phones and tablets on Google Play. Everything the game keeps (which yards you have solved, your Daily Yard streak, hints used, the pets in your Pet Town, your Relax or Challenge preference and every other setting) is stored on your device, and in your own iCloud or device backups under Apple's protections. We do not run a server that receives it, and we never see it. You can delete everything by deleting the app.

2. Anonymous product analytics

Snug uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics, so we can see what to fix and improve. It collects:

  • which screens and features are used (for example that a yard was solved, its size and mode, that a hint was shown, or that a Daily Yard was completed), with counts and coarse buckets, never exact values;
  • the app version, device model and OS version, and a random app-instance identifier generated by Firebase;
  • a coarse location (such as country or region) that Google derives from your IP address.

It never collects the advertising identifier (IDFA), the identifier for vendors (IDFV), your precise location, your name, or anything you type. Ad personalization and ad storage are switched off, this data is not linked to your identity, and it is not used for tracking or advertising. Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.

3. Notifications

Snug never asks for notification permission when you first open it. It asks only after you have solved a yard, after a short explanation, or when you choose Settings → Notifications. Until you allow notifications, the app sends nothing to our notification service: no device token and no other information. Once you allow them, the app registers your device with our own notification service, push.allthingsn.com, operated by All Things AI, Inc. It sends:

  • the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token;
  • the app version and build, OS version and device class;
  • your language and time zone;
  • your notification permission status and your topic choices (for example, Daily Yard reminders on or off, and product news, which is off unless you turn it on).

We use this information only to deliver the notifications you chose. It never includes your puzzles, your progress or anything that identifies you. Device tokens that Apple reports as no longer valid (for example after the app is deleted) are removed. To have your device's record deleted sooner, contact us.

4. Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, Snug uses Apple's Game Center for leaderboards and achievements (for example levels solved and your Daily Yard streak). Game Center is operated by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. We receive nothing beyond what Apple shows on the leaderboards. You can play without signing in.

5. Purchases

Snug Plus is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and keeps the receipt; we never see your payment details, and the app only checks with Apple whether the purchase was made so it can unlock the extra content. Restore Purchases is in Settings.

6. Apple Watch and sharing

Apple Watch. The Watch app shows a pocket yard and sends your moves and solved yards to your paired iPhone. That data stays between your own devices. Sharing. Sharing a Daily Yard result happens only when you choose to, through the standard share sheet, and the shared text never contains the solution or anything about you.

6A. Android (Google Play)

The Android version keeps the same promises, with these differences:

  • Progress and settings are stored on your phone or tablet, and copied by Android's own backup to your Google account if you have backup turned on, under Google's protections. We never see them.
  • Analytics work as described in section 2. The Android app never collects the Android advertising ID: the permission to read it is removed from the app, and ad personalization is switched off.
  • Notifications. The Android app does not use our notification service at all. If you allow notifications (Android asks only after you have solved a yard, or when you turn on Daily Yard reminders in Settings), the app schedules one reminder a day on your phone. No device token or other information leaves your phone for this.
  • Purchases. "Unlock Everything" is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your payment details, and the app only asks Google Play whether the purchase was made so it can unlock the extra content. Restore purchase is in Settings.
  • Ratings. After a solved yard, the app may show Google Play's standard in-app review prompt. Google handles it and any review you leave.
  • There is no Game Center or Apple Watch on Android, so sections 4 and 6 (Apple Watch) don't apply there.

7. Ratings

After a solved yard or a new pet, Snug may show Apple's standard rating prompt. Apple handles that prompt and any rating you leave; we do not see who rated.

8. What we do not do

  • No accounts, email or sign-in.
  • No ads, and no advertising identifier.
  • No location, microphone or camera use.
  • No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
  • We do not sell your data.

9. Children and families

Snug is a family-friendly puzzle game, rated 4+ on the App Store, with no accounts, no chat and no way to share with strangers, and it asks no one for personal information. The only information that leaves the device is described in sections 2 to 6A, and none of it identifies anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Terms of use

Your use of Snug is governed by our Terms of Use and, as an App Store app, by Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA), and on Android by the Google Play Terms of Service.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Snug handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date before the new version ships.
