About this app

What Podium: Speech Coach does

Every other speech app makes you record yourself, upload the file, and read a grade an hour later. By then the talk is over and the habit is unchanged. Podium is different: it is a coach you can wear into a real meeting. It listens while you speak and silently buzzes the moment you say "um," "like," or "you know" — and again the moment you start racing past your target pace. The correction lands in the instant that formed the habit, which is the only instant that can break it. Under the hood Podium runs Apple's on-device speech recognizer with on-device recognition forced on, so your voice is transcribed live, right on your phone. A filler-word matcher scans every word as it arrives; an audio pace meter tracks your words per minute against a target you set. When either drifts, Core Haptics delivers a single, private tap — no sound, no screen you have to watch, nothing anyone in the room can hear. When you stop, Podium hands you a real scorecard: which filler words you leaned on and how many times, your average pace, your longest unbroken stretch of speaking, how much of the time you paused, and a letter grade. Over sessions, the Trends tab draws your fillers-per-minute falling and your pace settling onto target — the proof that the buzzing is working. Podium is built for privacy first. Nothing you say is recorded to a file or sent to any server — only the counts and pace are saved, and only to this phone. There is no account and no subscription. Everything, including custom filler lists and the full trends history, is unlocked. • Live, on-device transcription — private and offline, never uploaded • Instant haptic tap the moment you say a filler or start racing • Scorecard: filler breakdown, WPM, longest run, pause ratio, letter grade • Trends: fillers-per-minute and pace over every session, plus your top crutch word • Custom filler list — add "you know," "basically," or your own tics • Set your own pace target and toggle the haptic buzz Podium is a practice aid to build better speaking habits, not a professional assessment. Great for interview prep, presentations, Toastmasters, sales calls, and podcasts.

Why it exists

The problem

Speech-coaching apps record and grade you afterward in the cloud — nothing corrects you privately in the moment.

What's different

How Podium: Speech Coach stands out

On-device Speech transcription buzzes your wrist the instant you say 'um' or race — private, offline, live — then shows a scorecard.
