Weekly lunchbox planner, offline

Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What Tiffin does

Tiffin turns the daily "what do I pack?" panic into a calm five-minute Sunday ritual. Build your family's personal dish library — dal rice, pasta bake, sushi rolls, whatever they love — then let Tiffin rotate them across the week so no one sees the same meal twice. Each person's likes and dislikes are remembered, and the planner gently steers around them.

Once the week is planned, hit Prep List and every ingredient arrives in one tidy checklist, grouped and ready to tick off. No more halfway-through-cooking discoveries that you ran out of something.

Built for South Asian and Asian-American households, US school lunches, and any family that packs food daily. Completely offline — SwiftData keeps everything on your device.

• Weekday × person planning grid for the whole family • Personal dish library with veg, non-veg, vegan, and allergy tags • Auto repeat-avoidance across the last two weeks • Per-person dislikes that filter suggestions • One-tap prep and shopping checklist • Seeded starter repertoire so you can plan Day 1

What's inside

  • Weekly plan grid — A weekday-by-person matrix showing every person's lunchbox for Monday through Friday. Tap any cell to assign a dish; Tiffin highlights recently used dishes so you naturally rotate.
  • Dish library — A searchable, tagged collection of the family's go-to dishes (veg, non-veg, vegan, gluten-free). Ships with a starter repertoire of 20 common tiffin and school-lunch items that families can edit or delete.
  • Prep and shopping checklist — Auto-assembled from the week's plan: every dish's prep notes and ingredients in one checklist grouped by category (produce, pantry, dairy). Check items off in real time while prepping or shopping.
  • People and preferences — Add each family member by name and record their dislikes. The AssignSheet surfaces a warning when a disliked ingredient appears and de-prioritises that dish in suggestions.

Why we built it

Families who pack daily tiffins or school lunches improvise from memory each morning, causing stressful last-minute decisions, unintentional repeats that bore kids, forgotten ingredients, and zero visibility into what the rest of the week looks like.

What makes it different

The only offline-first lunchbox planner purpose-built for multi-person tiffin culture: a weekday-by-person grid with built-in repeat avoidance, per-person dislikes, and an auto-generated prep checklist — a niche no generic meal planner or South Asian recipe app has occupied.

Who it's for

Built for anyone who values fast, private, on-device software with a calm, focused UX.
