About this app
What Sayline does
Free. No ads, no subscription, no account. Your scripts and your voice never leave the device. Sayline is how you learn something by heart: a wedding toast, a monologue for an audition, a keynote, a psalm, a poem for class, the lyrics you have to nail on Saturday. Paste the text, say it out loud, and Sayline listens on-device and follows you word by word. Lines you know fade away — first letters, then every other word, then nothing — and lines you stumble on come back. When you go quiet for too long, your phone (and your Apple Watch) buzz and the next word appears. THREE MODES, ONE SCRIPT, NO PAYWALL • Learn: recite with the text fading as you master each line. Stall, and the next word is offered. • Test: recite from memory. Every line is scored, and the shaky ones are named, so the next session starts where it matters. • Prompt: a teleprompter that scrolls with your voice and waits when you pause. Mirror mode for beam-splitter rigs, a front camera behind the text for recording takes, a tap to save to Photos. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Line-by-line mastery, not a stopwatch: Sayline knows which lines you own and which you don't • Recite while walking: the phone stays in your pocket, the Watch shows your line • Public-domain classics built in: the Gettysburg Address, All the world's a stage, The Road Not Taken, Invictus, Psalm 23 • Long paragraphs are split into sentences automatically, so any pasted text becomes lines • Import from Files, paste from anywhere BUILT FOR APPLE WATCH Every script is synced to your wrist as cue cards, one line per card, scrollable with the crown, with no phone required. During a rehearsal the Watch shows the current line at its fade level and the next line, buzzes when you stall, and offers the next word with a tap. In Prompt mode it is the remote: pause, faster, slower. WHO IT IS FOR Actors and students learning lines, best men and maids of honor, presenters, pastors and anyone memorizing scripture, poetry students, singers, debaters, TEDx speakers, and language learners rehearsing a set text. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Speech recognition runs on the device. Nothing is recorded, uploaded or analyzed anywhere else. There is no account and no analytics. GOOD TO KNOW Sayline uses on-device English speech recognition and needs a device that supports it. Why it exists
The problem
Learning a text by heart is still done with a printout and a hand over the page; line-learning apps need a second person to record cues, and teleprompters read at you instead of listening.
What's different
How Sayline stands out
Listens on-device and fades each line by its own mastery level, scores blind recitations line by line, puts cue cards and stall alerts on the Apple Watch, and includes a voice-following prompter for delivery — free, no ads, no account.
