What Sofa collects
Sofa is an app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store and for Android on Google Play built by All Things AI, Inc. This policy applies to every version, whichever store you downloaded it from. Everything you enter into the app — TV names, IP addresses, room labels, and connection settings — stays on your device. We do not run a server that sees, stores, or processes your data.
Anonymous usage analytics
Sofa uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics — for example which screens and features are used, session counts, and feature engagement. The purpose is to understand product usage so we can decide what to improve, not to identify you. Specifically:
- No advertising identifier (IDFA or Android Advertising ID) is used, and there is no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No user accounts or user IDs — events are not linked to your identity.
- Your content never leaves the device: TV names, IP addresses, room labels, and connection settings are never uploaded.
- Any numeric usage data is sent only as coarse buckets, never precise values; free text is never sent.
Apart from these anonymous statistics, we do not advertise inside the app, sell data, or require an account, email, or sign-in.
Trademarks and third-party names
Sofa is an independent app made by All Things AI, Inc. It is not made by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any TV maker or streaming service.
- Names such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Apple TV, AirPlay, Roku, Samsung, LG and Vizio are trademarks of their respective owners. Sofa uses them only to tell you which TVs, channels and apps it can control or open.
- When Sofa shows the name, color or icon of a streaming app or channel, it is identifying that app so you can launch it on your own TV. Those logos and brands belong to their owners — they are not Sofa's, and their appearance does not mean the company supports, approves or partners with Sofa.
- On Roku TVs, channel icons are supplied by your own TV at the moment you use the app; Sofa does not host or redistribute them.
- Support for a brand means Sofa can send it standard remote-control commands over your home network. It does not mean that brand has certified or tested Sofa.
In-app purchases
Sofa is free with all features included. There is no in-app purchase, subscription, or paid tier — we don't run any payment infrastructure for this app.
Children
Sofa is not directed at children under 13, in line with the app's age rating on the App Store.
Terms of use
Your use of Sofa is governed by our Terms of Use and, as an App Store app, by Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA), and on Android by the Google Play Terms of Service.
