What you can do in Estatey on the web

1

Account-discovery checklist

A placeholder for every kind of account that might exist — bank, brokerage, IRA and 401(k), life insurance, annuity, pension, Social Security, VA, safe-deposit box, USPS box, Treasury Direct, crypto, employer final pay, real property, vehicle title and outstanding debt — each moving from unknown to contacted, found, claimed or closed.

2

Deadline tracker seeded from your state

Opening a binder creates the four filings every executor faces: the EIN application, the creditor-notice period computed from that state's own window, the decedent's final Form 1040 and the estate's Form 1041 — then you add the county's own dates.

3

51-jurisdiction probate primer

All 50 states and DC with the small-estate threshold, whether summary administration is available, the creditor-notice window, the typical timeline, the statutory executor-fee schedule and the homestead allowance — searchable and bundled, no connection needed.

4

Beneficiary register with signed receipts

Each heir with their relationship, contact, bequest, share and distribution status — and whether they have signed a receipt, which is what closes an estate cleanly.

5

Executor expense ledger

Funeral, filing fee, appraiser, attorney, broker, transport and lodging you paid personally, with a running total of what the estate still owes you back and a CSV for reimbursement.

6

Communication log

Every call with the bank, the broker, the court clerk, the attorney, the IRS or an heir — timestamped with a name and what was said, so a stalled claim can be restarted.

7

More than one estate at once

A second estate gets its own binder, its own state primer and its own timeline; switch the active binder at any time.

Screens

Every screen, rebuilt for the browser

  1. 1

    The binder

Days since the date of death on a 90-day ribbon, the next deadline, what is still unfound, what the estate owes you, and every section of the binder.

  2. 2

    Estate

The estate record — court file, role, bond, will, EIN — where administration stands, and the state's probate primer card.

  3. 3

    Estate setup

Decedent, date of death, state of domicile, county, court file, your role, bond, will, trust and estate EIN.

  4. 4

    Discovery

Value located so far, a status bar across the whole checklist, and every account category filterable by how far along it is.

  5. 5

    Account

One line of the discovery checklist: institution, label, status, balance, beneficiary on file, last contact and notes.

  6. 6

    Add an account

Add an account the checklist did not anticipate, with its category, status and balance.

  7. 7

    Deadlines

Open and completed filings with days remaining, colour-coded by category, and what each category actually covers.

  8. 8

    Add a deadline

A custom filing or notice, with the state's own windows listed alongside for reference.

  9. 9

    Beneficiaries

The heir register with shares, distribution status and signed receipts.

  10. 10

    Expense ledger

What the estate owes you, a bar per category, every expense and a reimbursement CSV.

  11. 11

    Communication log

Every call, email, meeting, letter and hearing — dated, with a name and what was said.

  12. 12

    Probate primer

All 50 states and DC with thresholds, creditor windows, timelines, executor fees and homestead allowances, your estate's state pinned to the top.

  13. 13

    Settings

Estates, binder options, JSON and CSV export, sample data and erase.

Try it with sample data: Loads a California estate 47 days after the date of death: seventeen discovery lines with five accounts resolved and $258,750 located, eight deadlines with three already filed and the creditor period ending in 73 days, three beneficiaries with one receipt signed, six out-of-pocket expenses totalling over $12,000, and six logged calls with the bank, the clerk, the SSA and the attorney. You can start fresh at any time.

Questions

Is the web version of Estatey free?+

Yes. Sign in with a free All Things AI account and use every screen — no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Where is my data stored?+

Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.

Do I need an account?+

You can read about the app without one, but you must sign in to open it. Sign-in is free and takes a few seconds with Google.

How is the web version different from the Estatey iPhone app?+

The iPhone app photographs the will, deed, death certificate and policies into an on-device document vault; the web version keeps the written record and reference numbers only. There are no deadline reminders — a browser tab cannot fire a local notification, so the binder surfaces what is due and what is past due instead. The probate primer is general guidance current to the bundled table; procedure varies by county and an attorney in the decedent's state always overrides it. Everything is stored in this browser only. Clearing site data erases it, and it does not sync to your phone.
