About this app

What Chainwallet does

Chainwallet is a read-only watchlist + portfolio tool for self-custody crypto users. You add your public addresses (never your seed). The app shows balances, classifies tokens as legit / unknown / known-scam from a bundled registry, and helps you keep a tax-event log so your accountant doesn't hate you. What's in v1: — Address book: add EVM, Solana, Bitcoin public addresses (read-only, no keys). Label each one ("trading wallet," "savings cold storage," "NFT wallet"). — Portfolio view: aggregated USD value across addresses (refreshed on demand only — no background polling). Per-chain breakdown. — Scam-token registry: ~400 known-scam token contracts bundled in the app (sourced from open chain-of-trust lists curated by GoPlus, Phantom's public scam registry, OFAC sanctioned addresses). Each token in your wallet is checked locally against the registry. No address transmission to a server. — Tax-event log: manual entry for buys, sells, swaps, and stables. Generates a year-end CSV for TurboTax / Koinly / your accountant. — Risk checklist: 12-item self-audit (seed phrase backed up? hardware wallet? trezor firmware updated? exchange not your wallet? token approvals revoked?). The basics every retail user keeps forgetting. — No active actions: Chainwallet can't sign a transaction. It can't move funds. It's a watch. Free. Chainwallet Pro ($19.99/yr) adds: Apple TV airdrop-safe view ("show me my balance, don't show what's in it"), CSV export of the tax log, and the specialty multi-chain price ticker.

Features

Built to be useful, not noisy.

Bundled offline check.

Tax-event log

Manual entry; year-end CSV export.

Risk checklist

Why it exists

The problem

20M+ self-custody users globally (Chainalysis). Existing wallets (MetaMask, Phantom) are transactional — they're for sending, not for surveying. Existing watchers (Zerion, Zapper) require account creation and transmit your addresses. The on-device, read-only, scam-aware tool doesn't exist.

What's different

How Chainwallet stands out

Chainwallet is the only iOS crypto app where: (a) no keys are ever entered, (b) addresses never leave the phone (balance + token lookups happen via user-tappable web links, not embedded API calls in v1), (c) the scam registry is bundled, fast, offline. Zerion and Zapper require accounts. Phantom and MetaMask are wallets, not watch-only tools. Chainwallet is the calm overhead view.
