What you can do in Baseweight on the web
One master gear closet
Name, weight, category, notes and a consumable-by-default flag, entered once and reused across every trip — with retired gear kept for history.
The r/Ultralight weight split
Base weight (packed, not worn, not consumable), worn weight, consumables and total, all recomputed the moment you change a quantity or a toggle.
Worn-vs-packed and consumable toggles
One tap moves an item out of base weight and into worn or consumables — the total never changes, only where the grams land.
Category breakdown chart
A donut and a bar chart across the eleven gear categories so you can see exactly where your grams are hiding.
Base-weight goals
Set a target — the sub-10 lb base most people chase — and a progress bar shows how far under or over you are as you swap gear.
Grams, ounces or pounds
Everything is stored in grams and converted for display, so switching units never loses precision. Pre-trip checklists and JSON/CSV export included.

Yes. Every screen is free to use: no subscription, no in-app purchases, no account.
Do I need an account?+
No. Open Baseweight and start using it right away. Sign in with Google only if you want to upvote an app, save it to your list, or leave a comment.
Where is my data stored?+
Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.
Is there a Baseweight app for iPhone or Android?+
Not yet. Baseweight is a community proposal: the browser version is complete, and we build the iPhone and Android app once 100 people upvote it. Upvoters get one email when it ships.
