What Histamine Bucket does

Histamine Bucket is the offline food diary built around the one idea every other histamine app ignores: the bucket theory. Histamine intolerance reactions are delayed and cumulative — no single food sets you off, but several moderate-histamine foods through the day fill your bucket until it overflows. A static red/yellow/green lookup table can't see that coming. Histamine Bucket can.

What Histamine Bucket does:

— A visual bucket that fills as you eat. Log foods from a bundled histamine/DAO-rated food list and watch your running histamine load rise. The bucket drains over time toward your personal threshold, so you see your real cumulative level right now — not just whether one food is 'green.' — Personal threshold calibration. Everyone's bucket is a different size. Over a few weeks of logging foods and reactions, Histamine Bucket calibrates the threshold where your symptoms tend to start. — Overflow warning. Before your next meal, the app tells you how much room is left in the bucket today — so you can choose a low-histamine option when you're already near the top. — Reaction log. Symptoms (flushing, headache, hives, congestion, gut), severity, time — charted against your bucket level so the pattern becomes visible. — Bundled food ratings. DAO/histamine levels for hundreds of foods ship in the app. No cloud lookup, no AI service. — No account, no ads, no subscription, no cloud.

For the millions of adults — about 1-3% of the population, ~80% of them women around 40 — navigating histamine intolerance with nothing better than a printed list.

What's inside

  • The bucket — Animated fill level from logged foods; drains over time
  • Log food — Pick from bundled histamine/DAO-rated food list
  • Threshold — Calibrate your personal overflow point over weeks
  • Reactions — Symptoms + severity charted against bucket level
  • Today's room — How much bucket room is left before the next meal

Why we built it

Histamine intolerance reactions are delayed and cumulative ('bucket theory') — combining moderate-histamine foods overflows the bucket even when no single food would — but the dominant app is a static lookup table with no cumulative modeling, and the one app that does it is cloud/AI-dependent.

What makes it different

Histamine Bucket is the only app that models a rolling cumulative histamine load (a visual bucket that fills with logged foods and drains over time toward your calibrated personal threshold), warning of overflow risk before your next meal — entirely offline with a bundled DAO/histamine food list — Food Intolerances (B…
