Skinshelf
Routine builder + conflict checker
Every feature, from the first launch.
No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.
What Skinshelf does
Skinshelf is the offline skincare companion that finally tells you what NOT to mix. Build your AM and PM routines, drop in your products, and Skinshelf instantly flags risky combos using a built-in dermatologist-informed conflict ruleset — retinol with AHA/BHA, vitamin C with retinol, benzoyl peroxide with retinol, too many acids at once, and more. Every warning explains the why and tells you how to fix it (split AM/PM, alternate nights, or buffer).
Your shelf tracks every product's open date, Period-After-Opening (PAO), and expiry, so you never smear an oxidized serum on your face again. Log patch tests before introducing new actives, keep a dated reaction and photo diary, and watch your adherence calendar fill up as you stay consistent.
No account. No cloud. No AI face scan selling you products. Everything runs 100% on your iPhone — your skin data never leaves your device. Free to build one full routine and track your shelf; unlock unlimited routines, the full reaction photo diary, and PAO expiry alerts with a single one-time purchase. No subscription, ever.
Stop guessing whether your actives are fighting each other. Download Skinshelf and build a routine that actually works together.

What's inside
- AM/PM routine builder — Drag products into morning and evening routines; Skinshelf auto-orders them by the correct layering sequence (cleanser → toner → actives → moisturizer → SPF) and lets you check each step off daily.
- Ingredient-conflict checker — Using a bundled on-device rules JSON, the app flags risky combinations in a routine (retinol+AHA/BHA, retinol+vitamin C, retinol+benzoyl peroxide, multiple acids, etc.), explains the risk, and suggests a fix (split AM/PM, alternate nights, buffer).
- Product shelf + PAO expiry tracking — Add products with brand, key actives, open date, and PAO (months-after-opening). The shelf shows days-until-expiry and surfaces products that are oxidizing or expired.
- Patch-test log — Before adding a new active, log a patch test with start date and a reminder window; record whether it passed or caused a reaction so you introduce products safely.
- Reaction + photo diary — Dated journal of skin reactions, breakouts, and progress photos stored locally, so you can correlate a flare-up with a product you added.
- Adherence calendar — A calendar heatmap of which days you completed your AM/PM routine, with streak tracking to build consistency.
Why we built it
People own multiple skincare actives but don't know which combinations cause irritation/over-exfoliation or destroy efficacy, can't remember when they opened a product, and don't want to pay a recurring subscription or hand over a face scan just to organize a routine.
What makes it different
Unlike Skin Bliss, Glass, and FeelinMySkin — all account-required, subscription/paywall-heavy, and built around AI face scanning or product-selling — Skinshelf works fully offline with no account, no subscription, and ships a bundled ingredient-conflict ruleset plus open-date/PAO expiry tracking that flags risky combo…
Who it's for
Anyone who wants honest tracking without a coach, a subscription, or a streak guilting them at 11pm.
