Job log for mobile detailers

Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What Detailbook does

Your business fits in a van, but your records are scattered across a notebook, a calculator app, and three thousand camera-roll photos. Detailbook is the mobile detailer's logbook — clients, vehicles, jobs, proof photos, quotes, and chemical math in one place, fully offline, with no account and no monthly software bill.

Every job gets a complete record: the client, the vehicle, the package, what you quoted, what you charged, and how long it took. Attach before-and-after photo pairs by area — driver seat, headliner, trunk, paint — so when a customer claims the scratch was your fault, you swipe to the dated before shot instead of scrolling your camera roll at 9 pm. Those same pairs are your best marketing: side-by-side transformations are what fill a detailer's calendar.

Quoting stops being a gut call. Build your packages once, set your size tiers — sedan, SUV, truck, van — and rate the condition when you see the car. Dog hair, years of neglect, water spots: the calculator applies your multipliers and shows a price you can say out loud with confidence, so the filthy Suburban never gets billed like a clean Civic again.

The chemical shelf handles the math you skip when you're rushing. Enter each product's bottle size, cost, and dilution ratio; Detailbook tells you exactly how much concentrate per spray bottle and what that bottle actually costs. Log what you used on a job and see your real product cost — and your real margin — per vehicle.

Detailbook is deliberately not a CRM. There is no booking page, no payment processor taking a cut, no customer-facing anything. You book by text; your data lives on your phone; nothing needs a signal at the far end of a client's driveway.

• Job log with client, vehicle, package, price, and duration • Before-and-after photo pairs organized by vehicle area • Quote calculator: package times vehicle size times condition • Client and vehicle book with full service history • Dilution calculator and product cost per job • Income summary so you know what a month actually made • 100 percent offline — no account, no subscription

What's inside

  • Job Log — Every job as one record: client, vehicle, package, quoted vs final price, condition rating, duration, and notes, in a scannable reverse-chronological list with monthly totals.
  • Before/After Proof Pairs — Capture or attach paired before and after photos per vehicle area (seats, carpet, headliner, paint, wheels). A draggable divider compare view settles scratch disputes and produces side-by-side social-proof images.
  • Quote Calculator — Define packages once with base prices, then quote any car in seconds: pick package, vehicle size tier (sedan/SUV/truck/van), and condition (light/moderate/heavy) — multipliers produce a defensible price, convertible straight into a job.
  • Client & Vehicle Book — Clients with phone and notes, each with their vehicles (make, model, year, size class, color) and full service history — what was done, when, for how much, with the photos to prove it.
  • Chemical Shelf & Dilution — A shelf of your products with bottle size, cost, and dilution ratio. The calculator converts any ratio and bottle size into ounces of concentrate and cost per filled bottle; logging usage per job reveals real product cost and margin.
  • Income Summary — Monthly revenue, job count, average ticket, product cost, and effective hourly rate — the numbers a solo operator needs to know whether the month actually worked.

Why we built it

Every detailing software tool is a $30-$166/month subscription CRM whose center of gravity is online booking and payment processing. A solo mobile detailer's actual daily needs — a job log with before/after proof photos, package pricing that accounts for vehicle size and condition, dilution math, and product cost per…

What makes it different

Urable ($45-$166/mo), QuoteIQ ($29.99/mo), Mobile Tech RX (~$30/mo), Markate ($39.95/mo), and OrbisX (~$100/mo) are all subscription CRMs built around online booking and payment processing; DetailPilot's free tier is a payments funnel (1% transaction fee, Tap to Pay, hosted booking page) that requires an account and c…

Who it's for

Operations leaders and small teams who want a tool in their workflow without buying another platform.
