Find anything in any bin, fast

Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What Binventory does

Binventory turns the chaos of unmarked storage bins into a searchable, private library that lives entirely on your iPhone.

Create a bin, assign it a location (attic, garage, storage unit, spare room) and a color, then add the items inside — each with a photo, quantity and optional tags. When you need something, just search: Binventory shows the exact bin name, number and location in seconds, so you never tear apart a stack of totes again.

Built for movers, downsizers, seasonal storers and anyone who has ever opened five wrong boxes looking for one thing.

• Organize bins by location with color coding and custom numbers • Add items with photos, quantities and free-form tags • Full-text search across every bin and every item at once • Browse by location or scan a single bin's contents • 100% offline — SwiftData on-device, no account required • No QR codes, no stickers, no recurring fees

What's inside

  • Bin manager — Create bins with a name, number, location, color label and cover photo. Group and browse bins by location (attic, garage, storage unit, etc.).
  • Item catalog — Add items to a bin with a name, quantity, photo and freeform tags. Edit or remove items inline.
  • Universal search — Full-text search across all bin names, item names and tags simultaneously; results surface the item name, quantity and the bin + location it lives in.
  • Location overview — Summary card per location showing bin count and a scrollable thumbnail grid of bins stored there.

Why we built it

People store belongings across garage shelves, attic corners and off-site units with no reliable system, so finding one item means rummaging through many unmarked or vaguely labeled bins. Current workarounds — sticky notes, spreadsheets, phone photos in a camera roll — have no search, no location awareness and are aba…

What makes it different

A bin-first, location-aware inventory built purely for physical storage rather than insurance claims or business stock. Unlike Sortly (business pivot, 100-item free cap) or Encircle (discontinued consumer tier Dec 2025) or ToteScan (requires branded stickers), Binventory is QR-less, fully offline, has no item cap on t…

Who it's for

Anyone who values a small, sharp, single-purpose tool that does one job well and stays out of the way.
