StoryForge

A STAR story bank that shows you the competencies you still can't cover

Write each work moment once in a guided Situation / Task / Action / Result editor with a live length meter, tag the competencies it proves, and a heat-grid lights up green where you're covered and red where an interview would catch you out. Target profiles re-score the bank per company. Free, offline, no account.

What you can do in StoryForge on the web

1

Guided STAR editor

Four separate beats so the Action and Result earn their place, with a live word count and spoken-time meter that flags answers under ~90 words as thin and over ~260 as running long.

2

Competency coverage heat-grid

Eight competencies — leadership, teamwork, conflict, adaptability, problem solving, communication, time management, ownership — scored Exposed, Thin or Covered by how many finished stories prove each one.

3

Gap analysis per company

Build a target profile with the values a company actually tests, and StoryForge re-scores the whole bank against that set and names the gaps to close before the loop.

4

Rehearse shuffler

Deals your finished stories at random with the details hidden and a timer running, then you reveal, check yourself and mark each one strong, shaky or stale.

5

The questions behind each competency

Every competency carries the classic behavioural prompt that tests it, so you can see exactly which question you'd currently fumble.

6

Your career stays on your machine

No login, no cloud, no subscription — export the whole bank as JSON or a CSV whenever you want it elsewhere.

Try it with sample data: Loads eight STAR stories — seven finished and one half-written draft that leaves Conflict exposed on the grid — plus two target profiles, a leadership-principles PM loop and an early-stage EM round. You can start fresh at any time.

Questions

Is the web version of StoryForge free?+

Yes. Sign in with a free All Things AI account and use every screen — no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Where is my data stored?+

Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.

Do I need an account?+

You can read about the app without one, but you must sign in to open it. Sign-in is free and takes a few seconds with Google.

How is the web version different from the StoryForge iPhone app?+

The rehearse round times you and hides the story, but it can't record or transcribe your spoken answer the way a phone can. No reminders to keep stale stories fresh — the browser version has no notifications. Stories live in this browser only, so a different browser or device starts with an empty bank until you import a backup.
