What you can do in Standby on the web

1

One profile per child

Medications and doses, allergies, school and grade, insurance, pediatrician and phone, and the daily routine a stand-in needs on day one.

2

Standby-guardian nomination

Record who steps in — relationship, both phones, email, address, the authority they’d exercise, whether they’ve agreed, and whether the signed form exists — then link a guardian to each child.

3

Document vault, on this device

Birth certificates, passports, ID cards, A-number records, insurance cards, medical and legal papers: what it is, whose it is, its reference number and exactly where the paper is kept.

4

“If I’m Not Here” caregiver card

Assembles a formatted, printable page — call the guardian first, every child’s essentials, where the documents are — which you can copy or download as text, with an optional Spanish opening.

5

Live completeness checklist

Ten lines mirroring the ILRC / CLINIC Family Preparedness Plan, each computed from your binder rather than a checkbox, so it can never drift out of sync.

6

Offline by design

Everything stays in this browser’s local storage — no account, no cloud, no analytics — with a JSON backup you can export whenever you want.

Questions

Is the web version of Standby free?+

Yes. Sign in with a free All Things AI account and use every screen — no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Where is my data stored?+

Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.

Do I need an account?+

You can read about the app without one, but you must sign in to open it. Sign-in is free and takes a few seconds with Google.

How is the web version different from the Standby iPhone app?+

The iPhone app locks the whole binder behind Face ID or your passcode; a browser tab has no equivalent, so anyone with this device and browser can open it. The iPhone app stores an actual photo of each document; the web vault records the details and where the paper is kept, not the image. The caregiver card downloads as formatted text you print from any app, rather than the one-tap PDF the iPhone app generates. Data lives in this browser only — clearing site data or switching browsers loses it unless you exported a JSON backup first.
