What you can do in PriceWatch on the web
A price curve for every staple
Each item keeps a time-stamped list of prices with a trend line, latest, lowest, highest and the percentage change since you started tracking it.
Your personal price gap
Every item's annualized rate is weighted by purchase frequency, and each per-purchase difference is multiplied out over a year — so the headline number is dollars your household actually pays, not a national average.
Where the gap comes from
A ranked breakdown showing each staple's share of the annual gap, so you can see whether it is the gas, the eggs or the coffee doing the damage.
Fast logging with the last price pre-filled
Open a staple, tap Log Price, and the previous price and store are already there — adjust what changed and it instantly tells you the difference in dollars and percent.
Store-by-store comparison
Tag prices with a store and compare the average for the same item across stores, with the cheapest highlighted and a roundup of which store wins most often.

Yes. Every screen is free to use: no subscription, no in-app purchases, no account.
Do I need an account?+
No. Open PriceWatch and start using it right away. Sign in with Google only if you want to upvote an app, save it to your list, or leave a comment.
Where is my data stored?+
Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.
Is there a PriceWatch app for iPhone or Android?+
Not yet. PriceWatch is a community proposal: the browser version is complete, and we build the iPhone and Android app once 100 people upvote it. Upvoters get one email when it ships.
