Six continent tiles
Each shows a mastery ring (countries answered correctly 70%+ over 3 tries) and a streak badge that glows while it is alive.
Three quiz modes
Capitals (name the capital), Flags (identify from colour bands) and Country Names (from the capital) — four options, instant right/wrong, round summary with a score ring.
Colour-band flags
Every flag rendered as clean colour bands, plus swatches on the country card — readable at any size, no tiny raster images.
Browse and learn
Search all 198 countries and capitals, filter by continent, and open a card with flag, capital, continent and your quiz record.
Stats and history
Lifetime accuracy ring, accuracy by mode and by continent, a 12-week heatmap of quiz days and your recent rounds.

Is the web version of Mapquiz free?+
Yes. Every screen is free to use: no subscription, no in-app purchases, no account.
Do I need an account?+
No. Open Mapquiz and start using it right away. Sign in with Google only if you want to upvote an app, save it to your list, or leave a comment.
Where is my data stored?+
Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.
Is there a Mapquiz app for iPhone or Android?+
Not yet. Mapquiz is a community proposal: the browser version is complete, and we build the iPhone and Android app once 100 people upvote it. Upvoters get one email when it ships.
