What you can do in Goldbook on the web
A register of every piece
Name, type (jewellery, coin or bar), gross weight in grams, karat, price paid, making charges, purchase date, shop and the person it belongs to — the whole receipt, forever searchable.
Purity-weighted valuation
The real karat table (24K, 22K, 18K, 14K, 10K) converts gross grams into pure-gold grams, then values them at the 24K per-gram rate you enter. No price feed, no subscription.
Gain or loss on every item
Each piece shows today's market value against what you actually paid, in rupees and percent, plus the metal cost with making charges stripped out and the rate implied at purchase.
Family holdings view
Tag pieces to Priya, Arjun or anyone else and see each person's pure grams, market value, share of the household hoard and karat mix — the view insurance and inheritance conversations need.
Karat composition and value charts
A gold-shaded strip sized by pure grams per karat, a donut splitting value across jewellery, coins and bars, and a bar chart of value per family member.
Rate history you own
Every 24K rate you log is kept with its date and note, charted over time, and re-applicable in one tap — so you can see how the hoard was valued last month, not just today.

Yes. Every screen is free to use: no subscription, no in-app purchases, no account.
Do I need an account?+
No. Open Goldbook and start using it right away. Sign in with Google only if you want to upvote an app, save it to your list, or leave a comment.
Where is my data stored?+
Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.
Is there a Goldbook app for iPhone or Android?+
Not yet. Goldbook is a community proposal: the browser version is complete, and we build the iPhone and Android app once 100 people upvote it. Upvoters get one email when it ships.
