Flybox

Know what's already in the box — and what you're short before you sit at the vise

Build a visual inventory of every fly box with per-compartment pattern counts, write a recipe card for each fly listing hook, bead, thread, dubbing and hackle, and Flybox joins the two into a living materials shelf with low-stock flags and a restock list. Free, offline, no account.

What you can do in Flybox on the web

1

Visual fly-box inventory

A coloured compartment tile per box, tagged to a river or season, holding the patterns you have tied with a count for tied and a count for fished.

2

Recipe cards with every material

Hook, bead, thread, dubbing, hackle, wing, tail, rib, body and wire — each line joined to a real item on your shelf, with a per-fly quantity.

3

The derived materials shelf

Recipes joined against on-hand stock: every material shows how many recipes call for it and whether it is under your restock line.

4

Tie-now or short a material

Each pattern says whether every material it needs is on the shelf, or names exactly what you are missing — before you sit down, not after.

5

Restock list you can take to the shop

Low materials grouped by category with tick-off checkboxes, per-material thresholds you can tune inline, and a CSV export.

6

Stays on your device

Boxes, recipes and shelf live in this browser only — no account, no cloud, nothing synced.

Try it with sample data: Loads three boxes tagged to real rivers — Tailwater Dries, Confidence Nymphs and a Streamer Wallet — six classic recipe cards from the Parachute Adams to the Woolly Bugger, and a seventeen-item shelf where the grizzly cape, olive dubbing and #12 nymph hooks have all run out. You can start fresh at any time.

Questions

Is the web version of Flybox free?+

Yes. Sign in with a free All Things AI account and use every screen — no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Where is my data stored?+

Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.

Do I need an account?+

You can read about the app without one, but you must sign in to open it. Sign-in is free and takes a few seconds with Google.

How is the web version different from the Flybox iPhone app?+

No photos of your real box layout — the web version draws a coloured compartment tile per box instead of the iPhone app's photo. Everything is stored in this browser, so a second device starts with an empty bench. Materials are counted in whole units you choose (spool, pack, cape) — Flybox does not measure partial spools for you.
