What you can do in Beenthere on the web

1

A passport of the whole world

197 countries grouped by continent plus all 50 US states are built in — one tile each, coloured by status, so your travels read as a mosaic the moment you open it.

2

Four states per place

Not visited, wish list, visited or lived — tap to switch. Marking a place visited stamps this year for you; lived-in places count towards the total but keep their own colour.

3

Live world percentage

The headline number counts countries only, never US states, so it means the same thing as everyone else's — with continent-by-continent progress bars underneath.

4

A wish list you can rank

Dream destinations sorted by your own priority, movable up and down, with a one-tap tick that promotes a place to visited the moment you land.

5

Visit year and personal notes

Give any place a year and a note — what made it special — and they feed the travel timeline and the Favourite notes list on the Stats tab.

6

Stats and CSV export

Continent completion rings, a bar chart of places stamped per travel year, US-state progress, and a CSV of your whole travel list — all unlocked.

Questions

Is the web version of Beenthere free?+

Yes. Sign in with a free All Things AI account and use every screen — no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Where is my data stored?+

Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, so we can't see it, back it up, or restore it. Clearing site data, a private window, or another device starts empty. Export a backup from the in-app menu to keep it.

Do I need an account?+

You can read about the app without one, but you must sign in to open it. Sign-in is free and takes a few seconds with Google.

How is the web version different from the Beenthere iPhone app?+

There is no shaded world map — the browser version draws your passport as a tile mosaic banded by continent instead. The catalogue covers sovereign countries and US states; other territories, islands and regions you add yourself as custom places. The iPhone app can sync a place list between your devices — the web version keeps everything in this browser only, so export a backup before clearing site data.
