Your crates, pressings & spins

Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What WaxStack does

WaxStack is a record collector's notebook built for the way vinyl actually works: not just titles on a list, but specific pressings in specific condition that you actually play. Add a record in seconds, then capture what makes your copy yours — label, catalog number, pressing year, color variant, and the matrix etched in the runout groove. Grade media and sleeve separately on the full Goldmine scale, because every collector knows VG+/VG is not the same record as NM/NM.

Organize everything into crates that mirror your shelves. New arrivals, original jazz pressings, 7-inch singles, the box under the turntable — your crates, your names, your order. Each record's page shows everything at a glance, including what you paid and what it's worth to you now.

Then there's the part no catalog app bothers with: spins. Tap once when the needle drops and WaxStack builds your real listening history — most-played records, last-played dates, and a gentle "dusty" shelf of albums you haven't spun in months. A want-list with target grades and price ceilings keeps your digging disciplined at the next record fair.

WaxStack is 100% offline. No account, no sync, no marketplace, no ads — your collection lives in SwiftData on your device and never leaves it.

• Crates you name and arrange yourself • Pressing detail: label, cat#, year, variant, matrix/runout • Goldmine condition grades for media and sleeve, separately • One-tap spin logging with play history and dusty-record view • Want-list with target grade and max price per record • Purchase price and estimated value fields • Fully offline — no account, nothing uploaded, ever

Drop the needle, log the spin. Download WaxStack and give your collection the crate it deserves.

What's inside

  • Crates — A home screen of user-named crates with record counts; add records with artist, title, format and cover color, and browse each crate sorted by artist, recency or play count.
  • Pressing & condition — Each record's detail page holds pressing facts — label, catalog number, year, color variant, matrix/runout — plus separate Goldmine grades for media and sleeve, purchase price and notes.
  • Spin log — A one-tap 'log a spin' button on every record stamps a play; a history tab shows recent spins, most-played records and a 'dusty' section of albums unplayed for 6+ months.
  • Want-list — A digging list where each wanted record carries a target Goldmine grade and a max price; mark one as found to move it straight into a crate with its real purchase details.

Why we built it

Vinyl collectors have no good mobile home for their collection: the Discogs app loses edits, crashes on want-list changes, drops saved filters and pushes the marketplace, while spreadsheets can't capture what matters — which pressing you own, its real Goldmine condition, what you paid, what you still want, and (the pa…

What makes it different

Unlike Sneakerbox (sneaker rotation), Cardbinder (trading cards), Watchwind (watch care) and Songbank (karaoke repertoire), WaxStack is built around vinyl-specific structure: matrix/runout pressing identification, dual Goldmine grading for media and sleeve, and want-list grade targets. And unlike the portfolio's basic…

Who it's for

Built for anyone who values fast, private, on-device software with a calm, focused UX.
