Scan documents. Keep them. Forever. Offline.

Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What Scanrock does

Adobe Scan users have spent years complaining in Adobe's own community forum about vanishing scans — three years of receipts gone, mysterious 'scan failed' loops, auto-deletion of PDFs they specifically saved.

Scanrock is the opposite. Every scan is captured on-device, OCR'd on-device using Apple's Vision framework, and stored on-device — forever. There is no cloud option. There is no account. There is no sync that can break. The PDFs live in your phone's file storage and the Files app, in plain sight.

What you get:

— Multi-page capture with auto edge-detect and perspective correction. — On-device OCR (Apple Vision) — every word in every doc is searchable instantly. — Tag-based organization: receipts, invoices, IDs, contracts, medical, school, warranties — pick your own tags. — Local full-text search across every scan ever. — Export as PDF or PNG to anywhere via the standard share sheet. — Permanent archive: nothing gets deleted unless you delete it. No 'cleanup' feature. No expiring trials.

If your phone breaks, your scans go with it — but that's true of any private file. Back up via iCloud Drive or your computer if you want. The point is the scans are YOURS, not living in some company's S3 bucket that might evaporate.

What's inside

  • Multi-page scan — Camera capture with edge detect + perspective correction
  • Local OCR — Vision-framework text recognition on every page
  • Tag organizer — Apply user-defined tags; filter list by tag
  • Full-text search — Find any word across every scan
  • PDF export — Standard share sheet → PDF or PNG

Why we built it

Adobe Scan (the dominant free scanner) auto-deletes scans, has years of users in its own community reporting lost work. Built-in iPhone Notes scanner is per-note and has no archive UI. There's no popular free, on-device-only, properly-archived scanner.

What makes it different

Scanrock is the only popular scanner positioned around 'no cloud, ever'. Vision-framework OCR runs on-device (Vision can recognize 27 languages as of iOS 17). All PDFs and metadata live in the app sandbox + a folder visible in Files. No optional cloud sync — that's a feature, not a missing one. Adobe Scan and SwiftSca…

Who it's for

People who have tried every productivity app and bounced off the noise. If you want something calm, fast, and private, this is for you.

In one line: Scan documents. Keep them. Forever. Offline.
