What Clearmind does

Clearmind is a structured 8-week Cognitive Behavioral Therapy companion: protocol-driven worksheets that walk you through identifying thoughts, scheduling exposures, tracking mood, and surfacing patterns — drawn from NICE-validated CBT-protocol curricula in the public domain.

What's in v1:

— The 8-Week Protocol: a sequenced, dose-appropriate path through CBT's most-studied techniques — thought records, behavioral activation calendar, exposure planning, cognitive restructuring, problem-solving therapy, sleep hygiene, relapse prevention. Each week has 4 short exercises (5-10 min each), unlocked daily. — Mood Log: a 60-second daily check-in with three sliders (mood / energy / anxiety) plus a one-sentence note. Charts trend across the protocol. — Thought Records: a structured journal in the classic ABC + cognitive-distortion format (Activating event, Belief, Consequence + which distortion + alternative thought). 12 named distortions selectable from a tap-list. — Activity Scheduler: drag-and-drop daily calendar for behavioral activation. Each block tagged Mastery (1-5) and Pleasure (1-5) after the fact. — Exposure Planner: build a hierarchy (10 rungs from least to most distressing), schedule sessions, log SUDS scores (Subjective Units of Distress) pre/during/post. — Crisis Card: a one-screen, customizable card with your warning signs, coping moves, the people you call, and 988. Locks one-tap access in the corner of every screen. — Plain-English protocol library: text from CBT manuals adapted for the app — what each exercise is, why it works, what the evidence base looks like.

Clearmind is a SELF-help companion. It does not replace therapy. The app states this on first launch and again before any high-distress exercise. If a user logs three consecutive days of severe distress, the app surfaces 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) on the home screen and recommends professional help.
