Your private campsite journal
Every feature, from the first launch.
No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.
What Campnotes does
Campnotes is your personal field journal for every campsite you visit. Log the campground name, site number, and dates, then rate the details public reviews skip: afternoon shade, noise from the road, bathroom cleanliness, privacy from neighbors, and whether you got a usable cell signal. Add free-form notes — the gear you wished you brought, the quiet loop that had the best sites, the fire-ring that was too close to the tent.
No Wi-Fi required. No account to create. Everything is stored on your device with SwiftData, so your notes are instant and private.
• Log stays with site number, dates, and campground type • Five-star ratings for shade, privacy, noise, facilities, and signal • Free-form notes and pack-next-time reminders • Attach photos from your camera roll • Wishlist for campgrounds you want to try • Full history by campground — see every site you’ve stayed at there • 100% offline, no account, no tracking

What's inside
- Stay log — Record campground name, site number, camp type (tent/RV/cabin), start and end dates, and a notes field for gear reminders and observations.
- Site ratings — Five independent one-to-five-star ratings for shade, privacy, noise level, bathroom/facilities quality, and cell signal — stored per individual stay.
- Campground history — See every site you have stayed at within a given campground, with aggregate ratings, so you can instantly pick the best site number when rebooking.
- Wishlist — Save campgrounds you want to visit with a brief why-note, separate from your stay history.
Why we built it
Frequent campers forget which exact site was shady and quiet versus sunny and noisy by the time reservations open months later. Public review apps (The Dyrt, Campendium, Hipcamp) aggregate ratings at the campground level and are aimed at helping strangers discover new places — they have no way to store personal, site-…
What makes it different
The only fully offline, no-account iOS journal built around the individual campsite — not the campground — with five-star ratings for the practical attributes (shade, privacy, noise, facilities, signal) that determine whether a stay is comfortable, paired with free-form notes and a rebook-ready history. Unlike The Dyr…
